1. Introduction
IntelliExt (“we”, “our”, or “us”) is a Chrome extension developed by Intelgi LLC that generates AI-powered summaries of YouTube videos. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data.
By installing or using IntelliExt, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Information you provide
- Email address — when you create an account or log in
- License key — when activating a Trial or Premium plan
- API key (Free plan only) — your personal Gemini API key, stored locally on your device and never transmitted to our servers
2.2 Information collected automatically
- Video ID — the YouTube video identifier of the video you choose to summarize. We do not collect your full browsing history or any other page you visit.
- Usage data — number of summaries generated, timestamps, and plan type, used for rate limiting and quota enforcement
- Device activation data — a hashed device identifier used to enforce the maximum number of simultaneous device activations per license
2.3 Content you generate
- Summaries — the AI-generated summaries you create are saved to your cloud history if you are logged in. You can delete them at any time.

4. Third-Party Services
IntelliExt uses the following third-party services:

- Google Gemini / AI providers — transcript text is sent to AI providers to generate summaries. No personally identifiable information is included in these requests. Google Privacy Policy

5. Data Storage and Retention
- Local cache — summaries cached on your device are stored using Chrome’s local storage API and are never transmitted unless you are logged in with cloud sync enabled.
- Cloud data — account data and summaries are stored on Supabase servers. We retain your data for as long as your account is active.
- Account deletion — you may request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by contacting us at the email below. Data will be permanently deleted within 30 days.
6. Data Security
We implement industry-standard security measures including:
- SHA-256 checksums for license key integrity
- Row-Level Security (RLS) policies on all database tables
- HTTPS encryption for all data in transit
- Periodic license revalidation to detect unauthorized use
7. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate data
- Delete your account and associated data
- Export your summaries at any time using the built-in export feature (TXT, Markdown, PDF)
- Opt out of cloud sync by using IntelliExt without logging in

8. Children’s Privacy
IntelliExt is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately.
